EvoIASP '99 will be the first European event specifically dedicated to the applications of evolutionary computation (EC) to image analysis and signal processing (IASP) and will give European and non-European researchers in those fields, as well as people from industry, an opportunity to present their latest research, discuss current developments and applications, besides fostering closer future interaction between members of the three scientific communities.

The event will be held at Chalmers University of Technology in Göteborg, Sweden.

The workshop is sponsored by EvoNet, the Network of Excellence in Evolutionary Computing, and is one of the activities of EvoIASP, the EvoNet working group on Evolutionary Computation in Image Analysis and Signal Processing. It will be held in conjunction with three other major European events:

• EuroGP'99, the second European workshop on genetic programming,
• EvoRobot'99, the second European workshop on evolutionary robotics,
• EuroECTel'99, the first European workshop on evolutionary telecommunications,

The workshop will consist of:

• An invited talk by Dana Ballard, University of Rochester, USA.
• Oral and poster sessions (see list of accepted papers below) with periods for discussion
• Software demos and industrial stands

A reduced registration rate will be available for students.
